Every day those of us in other parts of the country see new images of the devastation, flooding, chaos and suffering created by the Hurricane Sandy. Watching the news and speaking with our own employees, we understand that the impacts of this storm have been very dire for so many people and companies throughout the east coast, our own employees and clients among them.
We have over 130 employees in the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy and our clients have many more. But Amerit Fleet Solutions is truly one big family, we are a team of compassionate and caring people, and we are here to help. In the face of this incredible devastation, there are amazing stories of our own employees’ extraordinary efforts to help each other and help our clients through this difficult time. I would personally like to recognize their efforts, they have done everything from pick up and deliver generators, shuttle mail for a clients from New Jersey to upstate New York, to repairing a generator at the local municipal airport and shuttling clients’ employees from Queens to Long Island three times a day.
Our Fleet Managers have been outstanding with coordinating these efforts and lending a hand whenever they can. As an example, two of our top Fleet Managers were called upon last Tuesday night at 9:00pm to help escort fuel tankers to various locations in New Jersey to make sure the trucks restoring services to communities had fuel for the next day. Both FM's drove around all night in very difficult conditions, escorting those trucks and helping them fuel vehicles. As a result those service trucks were able to continue to restore services to the communities that were in need.
Just this past weekend we also sent 25 volunteer employees up to New York and New Jersey, who will be joined by seven local employees, to assist in distributing fuel to our clients’ employees in the affected area. In a great show of confidence, our clients have turned to AFS to provide this humanitarian service to their employees at four fueling centers in NY and NJ.
I ask you to keep those who have been affected by the storm in your hearts, your minds and your prayers. And I encourage you and your family to get involved and help those in need during this national crisis.
Sincerely,

Gary Herbold
CEO, Amerit Fleet Solutions
